Expected increase in accounting workforce with Intugo

The Challenge

A U.S. facility services company faced a significant increase in workload related to accounts payable invoices, requiring additional personnel. The main goal was to optimize operations by maximizing what they could achieve with their fixed budget.

The company pursued a nearshore service provider aligned with their U.S.-based teams’ time zones. They needed experienced Accounts Payable professionals with strong English capabilities, general knowledge of accounting procedures, data entry skills, and exceptional customer service abilities — all integrated seamlessly into existing operations.

The enterprise U.S. accounting department consists of approximately 100 employees. The CFO envisions duplicating the team in Mexico without reducing the domestic workforce — focusing on cultivating a stable, cohesive workforce with minimal turnover rather than cost reduction alone.

The Solution

Intugo was selected to recruit and support the client’s nearshore accounting team in Guadalajara.

Intugo began by providing a transparent cost estimation summary for the desired position across various physical locations and remote arrangements. The cost estimation included salary analysis for profiles with different years of experience, additional employee benefits, co-working space rent, HR suggestions, and other details to support their team expansion plans in Mexico.

Initially conservative, the client grew confident in the Intugo model and expanded the recruitment to include five different accounting roles: accounts payable, accounts receivable, staff accountants, payroll processors, and collections personnel.

The Shared Services Senior Manager underscores the importance of a shared business culture between the U.S. and Mexican teams, fostering a unified, family-like atmosphere. Regular oversight visits to Guadalajara ensure the nearshore employees feel like part of the company, not just an extension.

Outcomes

Through a strategic nearshore accounting team expansion, the client achieved cost efficiency, operational stability, and seamless team integration — ultimately exceeding expectations with their fixed budget.

The Guadalajara operation now includes 12 employees across five distinct accounting roles, with plans to grow the Mexico team to mirror the company’s 100-person U.S. accounting department.

The accounting workforce in Mexico reached 542,000 in Q1 2025, providing a deep talent pool to support continued expansion.

Hear from their team

Intugo made it very easy to start hiring employees because they took care of all the legalities while I focused on training my new people. What I like about that is that we have the same flexibility to engage with our employees and maintain the same culture with our in-house team and our Intugo team.
